For part of my childhood, I lived in Upstate South Carolina, which was only a quick road trip from Charlotte. Here are our kid-tested and parent approved best places for family fun in Charlotte NC. We’re from Charleston, SC, which is about 3.5 hours from Charlotte—it’s one of our favorite long weekend locations. We tried food from several of the vendors, and can report that the chicken sandwich from Johnny Rogers BBQ and Burgers is about as crispy as it gets.
